MINISTRERIAL CONFERENCE “Revival of the Silk Road” 15-16 May 2008, Istanbul

A Ministerial Conference will be held on 15-16 May 2008 in Istanbul, in conjunction with the 31st IRU World Congress. The main Conference theme will be “The Revival of the Silk Road”.

The Conference, which will be organized under the patronage of the Turkish Ministry of Transport will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the importance of the revival of the Silk Road, to tackle a number of legal and administrative barriers hindering the progress of transcontinental transport in this transport corridor and to see what kind of measures should be taken for the Silk Road’s revitalization.  

In the context of the Conference, one public and two separate closed ministerial sessions will be held.  On this occasion, participants have also the possibility to join the opening and closing sessions as well as social events of 31st IRU World Congress.  Furthermore,  an important logistic exhibition of some 10.000 m2.    will be at disposal of esteemed participants.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided at the Ministerial Conference in English, Russian and Turkish.
